APA (6th ed.)--1st Printing Exchange Program

UPDATE (24 November 2009):

Students: If you purchased a copy of the manual from the campus bookstore, you can exchange your copy there. The bookstore will return your first printing and notify you when the second printings come in—this means you will be without a manual for about 2-3 weeks. You must act soon though, the bookstore will only take exchanges until December 1st.

Did you buy a copy of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.)? If you did, you might be entitled to exchange your first printing for a corrected version.

In the first printing, there were numerous errors and oversights. The APA has tried to correct these things with a series of bulletins, but this did not please everyone. A Facebook group (and others) lobbied for an exchange of first printing manuals for new corrected versions. The lobbying was successful and you can exchange your first printing for a corrected new version. ACT NOW if you want to exchange your copy!

To get the exchange or updates, choose one of the following three options:

OPTION 1: EXCHANGE COPY

Contact the APA Service Center for more information. The APA Service Center can be reached at:1-800-374-2721, Monday–Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. (EST). E-mail can be sent to: order@apa.org. Once you have confirmed details with the APA, your copy must be sent in by December 15, 2009. Canadians are included in the deal.

OPTION 2: DOWNLOAD CORRECTIONS

You can download a detailed corrections copy by clicking here. The copy is not of the whole book, just notes about the corrections.

OPTION 3: ORDER PRINT VERSION OF CORRECTIONS

You can also order a print version of the corrections. You will contact the APA Service Center using the same aforementioned contact information to order the print version of the corrections.
