New Databases Added

Library Services, in partnership with the Lois Hole Campus Alberta Digital Library (LHCADL) and The Alberta Library (TAL), continues to expand its database holds. As the new semester begins, we have added 5 new databases and upgrade an existing database.

The new and upgraded databases include:

COMPUTERS & APPLIED SCIENCES COMPLETE

This database covers academic and research materials about computer sciences and traditional engineering issues. The sources are also concern with the development of new technologies and their impact on business and society.

Coverage will vary with each publication. There is indexing and abstracts provided for 1,300+ academic journals, professional publications, and other sources. Full-text is provided for 500+ periodical titles.

EDUCATION RESEARCH COMPLETE


This database provides academic research and information related to "all levels of education from early childhood to higher education, and all educational specialties, such as multilingual education, health education, and testing."

Coverage will vary with each publication. Indexing and abstracts are provided for 1,800+ academic journals - 900+ of which are available in full-text. Additionally, there are 100+ full-text books and monographs available.

ENVIRONMENT COMPLETE

This database is an upgrade from the previous Environment Index and covers related areas of agriculture, ecosystem ecology, energy, natural resources, marine & freshwater science, geography, pollution & waste management, environmental technology, environmental law, public policy, social impacts, urban planning, and more.

There are more than 1,700,000 records indexed and date back as far as the 1950s. More than 600 journals and 80 monographs are available in full-text.

FILM & TELEVISION LITERATURE INDEX WITH FULL TEXT


This database "is a comprehensive bibliographic and full text database covering the entire spectrum of television and film." Subjects that are covered include: film and television theory, preservation and restoration, writing, production, cinematography, technical aspects, and reviews. The target audience ranges from the general viewer to the academic.

Coverage will vary with each publication. Complete abstracting and indexing is provided for 270 titles. Full-text coverage is provided for 70+ journal titles and 50+ books.

INTERNATIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHY OF THEATRE & DANCE WITH FULL TEXT

This database "is the definitive research tool for the study of theatre and the performing arts."

Coverage will vary with each publication. There are more than 60,000 articles that are indexed in the database. Full-text coverage is provided for more that 100 periodicals, and 100 books and monographs.

WORLD BOOK ADVANCED

The World Book Advanced is a searchable suite of multimedia resources that includes the full-text print edition of the World Book Encyclopedia, an atlas (with 750+ maps), a 250,000 word dictionary, thousands of e-books, and audiovisual material.
