Vera Bracken Library Open House Draw Winner
Congratulations to Ryan Toews, the winner of the Vera Bracken Library's prize draw for the Medicine Hat College's Open House event on January 29th. He was the recipient of a college backpack crammed with MHC themed swag.
Thank you to everyone else that stopped by our information booth and partook in the snow cones that library staff were dispensing. We had a great time and hope that everyone else did too. We look forward to participating in this annual event next year.

with walls of the deepest blue as door to the universe
GAYBOYS//DEAD-EYED
"only twelve years old
his biggest love story has already ended
'rainbows wept color all over the street when you went away' he whispered
ghost horses were floating in blue
drowning in red
dying in yellow
owls on their trees were watching the scene
in that night when everyone knew.
the night floods in
when you kissed me I felt life begin
I heard sweet sounds of a piano
and above us
the moons light like a crystal stream
feelings like tidal waves
maybe one day we’ll meet again
in the strangest ways
now I’m standing by the sea
I can’t seem to forget your beautiful face
I never cared that you’re a boy
like me.
mother was crying
with a rosary in her hands
her tears turned to diamonds
and burst on the floor
it was then revealed that our first kiss
was our last kiss.
young boy in this Italian village
where nobody understands
that these lovers
are lovers forever."

But needs must so I post the second 'Street Style of the week'. This week men and their (hand)bags. If I were a boy/man I would definitely wear (hand)bags 'cause a man and a bag is like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (okay thats a strange contast but please think about it, I'm sick)

great grey, great weather
Sorry guys too much stress. Life is foolish. Tomorrow I'm going to go to an eleven-plus. I'm so excited.
I'm so excited, I just can't hide it,
I'm about to lose control and I think I like it.
I'm so excited, I just can't hide it,
I know, I know, I know, I want to.
We shouldn't even think about tomorrow
(I know, I know, I know.)
Sweet memories will last a long long time
(I know, I know, I know.)
We'll have a good time baby don't you worry
(I know, I know.)
And if we're still hangin' around well that's just fine.
Let's get excited,
(Look what you do to me,)
That we just can't hide it.
(You've got me burnin' up.)
In the evening I will post some new pictures.

one week is over the next began.
1. Love the contrast between the classic materical and colour and the new, avant-garde cut, thats high level stylebreak and 100% harmony.
2. Lovely layering, but shes a bit too skinny if you ask me. Also bloody brillant boots (okay, maybe)
3. Dreamy beanie.
4. High fashion witches.
Sometimes it was snowing, sometimes not but alltime it's all other than hot. At least -7°C

Two New Databases Added
Medicine Hat College Library Services has added two new databases to its ever growing collection. The new databases include:
CANADIAN POINTS OF VIEW (from EBSCO)
This database provides a wide variety of essays on controversial subject matter that affects all aspects of Canadian society. The essays present both the pro and con aspects of the debate and are designed to provoke further discussion, thought, and study of the subject matter.
eHRAF ARCHAEOLOGY (from Yale University)
This database "is a cross-cultural database containing information on the world's prehistory. This annually-growing eHRAF database is organized by archaeological traditions. The full-text sources are subject-indexed at the paragraph level."
All resources can be accessed from on campus or at home. For a complete list of all of our database resources, click here.

#1 street style of the week 'it's all about faux fur'
Time for street style. The streets of the world are a totally good source of inspiration. So here is my new sector ‘street style of the week’. This week ‘it’s all about faux fur’.
I think the beauty in the middle could wear real fur, I don’t like this, so I just hope it is fake, because she looks awesome.

i think i need
?
I think I need these things…
Fake Fur (maybe the black one from H&M Trend?)
New Tights (all my tights are ripped and holey)
BOOTS, BOOTS, BOOTS, best one pair over knees (black, velour), one pair jackboots and an other pair really warm boots.
And in the future (late summer) I will have to buy my ultimate, classy autumn outfit (I dreamed about it) a slim, dark denim jeans, a classy light blue (or white) shirt and a classy v-neck jumper in dark green and grey, but a classy dark green v-neck lie in my closet.

Interlibrary Loans Free for Students!
Library Services is pleased to announce that, as of January 1st, 2009, all interlibrary loans (ILL) for students are now free!
Library Services has offered free ILLs for books for years, but maintained a $.10 per page charge for periodical articles. Now we have eliminated that cost and thereby eliminated any potential barriers between students and the information that they need. It does not matter where the information comes from in North America (or beyond), if the material is loaned by a participating institution, it is free.
For more information on the ILL service, please click here.
