Student Appreciation Week Winners

Congratulations to Shane Longley and Lisa Murphy! They are the winners of the Student Appreciation Week prize draws that were made by Library Services on Friday.

Hopefully everyone else that was able to take advantage of the free photocopying and other giveaways in the Vera Bracken Library felt like a winner as well.

The Vera Bracken Library will continue to be serving free coffee for those students that take advantage of our extended hours over the next weekend; so the winning continues.

Student Appreciation Week Winners - March '10

Over the course of Student Appreciation Week we had 385 entries for our prize draws. Congratulations to our three winners:

Twitter Contest Winner

What is a good way for Library Services to start a new year? Have a contest!

Library Services held a Twitter related contest for the first several weeks of 2010 and we would like to congratulate our winner--Jan Stalwick. She is the winner of a green iPod Shuffle. We definitely appreciate her enthusiasm and hope she enjoys the prize.

Student Appreciation Week Winners - Nov '09

Well, another Student Appreciation Week has come and gone, though the feelings still linger.

For this edition, we held the following events:

• Monday - free coffee
• Tuesday and Wednesday - free photocopying
• Thursday - 2 x $25 grocery gift cards
• Friday - free punch

Congratulations to Mallory Schofield and Anton Friesen—the winners of the grocery gift cards. We hope the rest of our patrons felt like winners as we demonstrated our appreciation of you all.

Drop-in Class Winners

Congratulations to our drop-in class prize winners—Olaide Oredgbe and Louisa Yip.

Each won their choice of a print credit, campus bookstore gift certificate, or cafeteria gift certificate. Each prize is valued at $15.

Throughout the month of November, Library Services was offering drop-in classes to help students enhance their knowledge of APA and MLA citation, and accessing catalogue and database resources. We look forward to offering some new and different sessions in the new year.

Thanksgiving Prize Winner

Congratulations to Rosie Saurette. She is this year's winner in our Thanksgiving Day prize draw, which included a gift package of Autumn and Thanksgiving themed goods.

Back to Class Prize Draw Winner

Congratulations to Leonard Anstey. He is the winner of Library Services' back to class prize draw, which includes a backpacked filled with everything that a student needs to get started for the new college year.

Vera Bracken Library Open House Draw Winner

Congratulations to Ryan Toews, the winner of the Vera Bracken Library's prize draw for the Medicine Hat College's Open House event on January 29^th. He was the recipient of a college backpack crammed with MHC themed swag.

Thank you to everyone else that stopped by our information booth and partook in the snow cones that library staff were dispensing. We had a great time and hope that everyone else did too. We look forward to participating in this annual event next year.

Halloween 2008

The Vera Bracken Library's Halloween theme this year was Monsters of Rock. The library staff, as usual, was dressed up and ready to go. Decorations included a fog machine at the entrance, a light show courtesy of the college's theatre at one end of the Information Desk and Guitar Hero was playable on a large screen at the other end.

At the end of the day, a good time was had by both staff and students. We would like to congratulate Shayla Paxman for winning our Guitar Hero World Tour for Nintendo Wii prize draw.

Congratulations to Dong Yoon-Kim! He was the winner of the Vera Bracken Library's Thanksgiving Day prize draw.












The Thanksgiving Day themed prize package included a $45 gift certificate to M&M Meat Shop and other assorted items.

De-Stress Week Winners

Its exam time at Medicine Hat College, and for the week of April 9th-13th, Library Services featured a De-Stress Week. Features included books and tips about coping with this stressful time in the academic year, and prize draws. Prizes included a gift bag and gift certificates for massages.
